Mindpower gives Royals a surge KICK
OFF TO GLORY The BBC Tv cameras filmed Uri holding Fridays copy of
the Evening Post and concentrating on his psychic powers. Fans, too, gave Reading
a mind-blowing boost at 3pm
SONNING
spoonbender Uri Geller helped spur on the Royals by generating fan power during
a magical Saturday afternoon. The
psychic guru joined forces with the Evening Post to call on Reading fans to use
the power of positive thought to give their team a mind-blowing boost at 3pm. Fans
were asked to place their hands on a football printed on the cover of Fridays
Evening Post at kick off, look into Uris eyes and chant Win Reading
Win. Uri
said he felt a huge surge of psychic energy at 3pm. He
was inundated by e-mails from fans saying they knew Reading would come back after
Brentford scored because they too had felt the force. He said: It is
fantastic. I didnt have any doubts. I knew the fans would go for it when
I saw Fridays Evening Post. Im
very happy for the town, the fans, the citizens of Reading and John Madejski.
It will be a huge boost of confidence, fun, and self belief for the town. Everyone
will be determined to make it into the Premiership next season because of the
positive feel-good factor. Of course, I will be willing them on. The
experiment could well be seen on the BBC as Uri was filmed by a documentary team
for an hour-long programme to be screened later this year. He
added that Readings return to form had coincided with his reunion with John
Madejski. The pair fell out several years ago and Uri says that the team then
began to struggle. When
the psychic auctioned a car he was surprised that Mr Madejski generously bought
it to swell charity coffers. He said: I called him and when we met we shook
hands and hugged and from that day Reading started winning. |
