WHO IS BEN ROBINSON?
Prior to his 30th birthday, Ben Robinson wrote an awardwinning
book (Milbourne Christopher Foundation Award for literature, Soc.
of American Magicians Leslie R. Guest award for literary excellence),
was produced off Broadway as his own one man surrealist magic
show titled 0ut Of Order (with music by composer Mark Bennett)
and he trekked to the Base Camp of Mt. Everest in Nepal with the
oldest mountaineer to capture the summit (Dick Bass of Dallas,
TX). He has also published an index to the memoir of the real
life Indiana Jones, the Rev. John N. Booth, and recently The
Magic Box (Random House) with Fulbright awardwinning author
Daniel Stashower.
In 1994-5 Ben Robinson broke new theatrical ground by synthesizing
rock 'n roll and new vaudeville performance at Lincoln Center
with the cast of the Off Broadway hit STOMP, touring shows
for Coca Cola, and producing the gala premier for the Lower Manhattan
Cultural Council's New York City Buskers Fare. His show GHOST
(with music by Dan Seiden of The Round Band) opened for Earth
Wind & Fire on The Today Show and then was developed
at the number #1 rock club in Seattle, MOE, Ben Robinson has been
a consultant to Lincoln Center, David Copperfield's 19951996 tour
and will address Connecticut College in their Distinguished Alumni
Series in October '96
He is a distinguished writer/producer behind the scenes of many
innovative projects currently under production in New York, Atlanta
and Seattle.
