Dear Uri,
I have been meaning to write for some time to express my deepest sympathy, on the death of your friend Michael Jackson. The news came as such a shock to the world it has been all too easy to forget how affected his closest acquaintances must have been. I do hope in a little way he stays alive for you in memories and music.
For far longer I have been meaning to send you an update on our Kenyan Conjunctions project you kindly sponsored which has an aim to build a school in East Africa. The launch at Eton went exceptionally well and we received generous coverage in The Daily Telegraph (which you might have seen) as well as mentions in the Guardian, Evening Standard and a feature in MAGIC magazine.
In generously sponsoring production, your £1000 has now translated into £15k+ we will send DIRECTLY to Africa without incurring further costs. Isn't that wonderful? Unfortunately, a patch of rather nasty illness on my side has led to a slight delay in transferring some cash funds. As soon as this is done (within a few weeks we hope) the African Trust will be able to set the wheels in motion for the real work to begin in Kenya.
May I take this opportunity to thank you once again for your help and support.
Please find enclosed a copy of the D.V.D. - I have just heard you never received a copy which is rather an embarrassing oversight - we all thought the other one had dispatched a copy to you. In quality - well, it's our first ever attempt and shan't win prizes - but it's served its job well with your help.
Yours,
Tom
